Student Enrichment CenterThrive Coaches
A thriving student is one who is experiencing personal and academic growth and developing resilience as they persist through the challenges of living on their own for the first time.
Our Thrive Coaches are helpers, connectors and, at times, cheerleaders, who help each student find a sense of belonging on our campus while nurturing greater independence. Thrive Coaches are part of a larger “Success Team” assigned to each incoming student. Each student’s Success Team also includes their admissions counselor, academic advisor and financial advisor. As students transition from high school to college, their Thrive Coach and Success Team provide consistent, individualized support to help meet their needs in every area – academics, social engagement, physical and mental wellness, and more.
Student Enrichment CenterEarly and often
The first six weeks on campus are critical in determining whether a student will thrive at JU. To impact their experience upon arrival, we must begin coaching them months before they start classes. Our Thrive Coaches begin engaging newly accepted students as they prepare to enroll in their first classes at JU. They check in, remind students about important dates and deadlines, and help answer questions. They work closely with our New Student Experience team to ensure students are enrolled in orientation and ready to hit the ground running their first semester. By the time students arrive in the fall, they have an established success network they can rely on for guidance.

Director
As the Director of the Student Enrichment Center, I champion student development through coaching, advocacy, and academic services, fostering skills like time management and study strategies. I'm passionate about creating a Center that encourages engagement, exceptional classroom performances, and deeper out-of-class preparation.
I'm currently working on my dissertation towards my doctorate in Educational Technology, focusing on mitigating output bias with artificial intelligence tools. I also have a B.A.A. in Public Relations and an M.S. in Higher Education. I look forward to helping you THRIVE at JU!

Kira Kieler
Thrive Coach
Growing up in Pittsburgh, PA, I will always represent the “black and gold.” I have a love for reality tv and books; you can always ask me for some book recommendations! I moved to Jacksonville to become a Dolphin in 2019 and finished my B.S. in Political Science in Spring 2023. I'm currently studying in JU's MBA program and will be graduating in Spring 2025. I am also a proud alumna of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
Jacksonville University has provided me with laughs, love, and support during my time here as a student, and has allowed me to provide those same experiences. The Student Enrichment Center was created to support students and encourage them to thrive. In my role as a Thrive Coach, I help students recognize and believe in their abilities to achieve greatness, stay focused, determined, and never forget the incredible potential that lies within them. Phins up!

I earned my B.A. at The University of North Carolina Wilmington in Recreation, Sport Leadership, and Tourism Management. I am currently studying in JU's M.S. in Organizational Leadership program. I have had exposure to program and facility management opportunities, student-staff supervision, operations, and development in the university setting. I also competed on the Men’s Track and Field team at UNCW as a jumper/sprinter and was named team captain.
I love JU and working in the Student Enrichment Center because we provide incredible support and resources, helping students thrive both academically and personally. It's truly inspiring to see how dedicated the university is to student success. I’m eager to help students establish sustainable habits that will translate to a great experience at JU. Let’s go, Dolphins!
